The Prowler was a twin-engine, four-seat, mid-wing electronic warfare aircraft. Its main job was electronic attack (EA), focusing on jamming enemy radar and communications, and gathering electronic intelligence (ELINT). It could also perform secondary roles like suppressing enemy air defenses (SEAD) by attacking radar sites with High-Speed Anti-Radiation Missiles (HARM). The EA-6B Prowler was eventually replaced by the EA-18G Growler, a specialized electronic warfare variant of the F/A-18F Super Hornet. A total of 170 Grumman EA-6B Prowler aircraft were built. The last one was delivered in November 1991. The EA-6B Prowler is a four-seat electronic warfare and attack aircraft that served with the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
