Artisanal manufacturing in San Jacinto Bolívar
We are proud to present our Hammock L “Pompon” Ecru. This hammock is made by talented artisans in the municipality of San Jacinto Bolívar, Colombia. The weavers of this region have preserved the tradition of hammock making for generations. It is partly thanks to their expertise that we can offer you this model. This Colombian artisanal hammock is hand-woven. It is made, thread by thread, on a (vertical) loom. The arms of this hammock (also called heads, ropes, hangers) are also made by hand to guarantee a quality finish. This hammock is made in one piece. It has no finishing or sewing, and that's what makes it authentic.
Ideal dimensions for 1 person
This hammock for one person measures 1.50 meters in width by 3.50 meters in total length. It is perfect for one person, and can be used indoors or outdoors. We do not recommend using it frequently outdoors and bringing it indoors in case of bad weather. Additionally, it is a heavy hammock that will take a long time to dry if you leave it in the rain. It is a quality hammock that must be treated accordingly. To be used at home or sheltered if possible.
The hammock: A cultural history in Colombia
Anchored in pre-Columbian history, the Colombian hammock transcends the centuries as a cultural symbol. Indeed, it was once essential for Caribbean farmers who used it to give life, to transport the sick and even to end their days. Today, some indigenous populations still perpetuate these traditions. Thanks to our work as an importer, this 1000-year-old heritage is brought into our urban environment. For Hamac del Sol, these authentic hammocks embody a marriage between tradition and modernity. Placed on a balcony, in a bedroom or on a terrace, it becomes a piece of choice offering you calm and relaxation.
Our guide “Our 8 tips for choosing your hammock” offers a practical overview for those wishing to explore the world of hammocks. As we often say, the hammock is much more than just a piece of furniture; it is a bridge between past and present, connecting eras and cultures through a thread woven with passion and skill.
