Mother & Baby vintage folk art doll, traditional figure with beautifully detailed clothing and lots of jewelry.  She is holding a large pipe, certainly the biggest hash pipe I've ever seen.  In the other hand she holds a basket and something I have not yet been able to identify.  It's hard to tell what the heads and hands are made of... at first I thought plastic but I am not certain. It's quite remarkable that all the parts are still together. 

After doing some research, I found that this is the Hmong (RPA: Hmoob/Moob, IPA: [m̥ɔ̃ŋ]), an ethnic group from the mountainous regions of China, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. Hmong are also one of the sub-groups of the Miao ethnicity (苗族) in southern China.  I found another doll, which I am almost certain is from the same artist.  That other doll is marker:  "Name of doll: Mien or Yao, Designed by: Vanida S. Mongkhong / Handmade by Youthana, Made in Thailand."
