Why the Tonlé Sap krama?

The Tonlé Sap krama takes its name from its different shades of blue. In the Khmer language, Tonlé Sap means “large freshwater river” and characterizes a group of lakes and rivers. The abundance of fish helps feed a large part of the Cambodian population and serves as a refuge for several species of large birds in danger of extinction.
